The Academic Traditions project is the result of Anatol Ghimpu's creative and pedagogical path. At the same time, it is undoubtedly a continuation and rethinking of West-European traditions and the foundations of the Academic School. In many ways, the appearance/emergence of the project was caused by the collapse (fall) of the academic fine arts education system in the contemporary European world.
The education of an impressive number of student promotions during thirty years of didactic practice of Anatol Ghimpu led to the emergence of followers and teachers, who were at the foundation of the establishment of this project, whose initiator and author is Dan Ghimpu.
Academic Traditions is a didactic focused project. Due to the variety of inherent events and activities, the project includes several sections, such as: Methodological background of works of all generations of students, Methodological exhibitions, Methodological material of universal artworks, sale of original artworks of the members, sale of prints, consultancy and a painting school / courses.
In the Books section - we have now available the art catalogue of Anatol Ghimpu (released in 2021) and will follow more products focused on methodological materials (global art), for different directions - academic drawings, painting, portrait, nude, pleinair and others
Most of originals have no price indicated due to the fluctuation of prices depending on the point in time. If you have interest in any of the original artworks, please get in touch and make an offer. We promise to consider every offer and come back to you in a short time.
As originals, we present original artworks of team-members of the project: Anatol Ghimpu, Oxana Țip and Alexandra Clapatiuc. These are original artworks, 1 of a kind, manually painted during the professional activity of the author. Each artwork will have specified (if applicable) - year in which it had been painted, size (in mm), technique and if it will be delivered framed or not.
On agreement we can provide also framing and hanging systems. This can although imply longer dispatching time.
Yes, all the originals are signed by the author. Usually a signature will be present on the front side, lower right / left corner and on the back side of the artwork with the specification of location, year and size.
Some of the artworks will be delivered in a professional baguette frame (if it is already framed like that - and it will be specified), but most of the artworks are framed in a simple wooden frame and do not have any specific hanging system applied.
The originals (most of them) are painted in the technique - oil on canvas, and due to the technique used, the artworks can not be shipped in a compact way (by rolling the canvas), as it might cause damage. Because of this, the artwork will be shipped as a whole, with the canvas attached to the underframe. Packaging will have security features to make sure no damage can be done during shipping to the artwork.
Prints - are a series of products that are in fact high quality printed copies of artworks. These are copies of the artworks we have for sale in the original section, but also of artworks which are not available for sale and will never be.
The prints are reproduced as a high quality digital print on 200g/m2 paper. Depending on the size of the artwork, it will be printed on 2 types of paper: Enhanced French Matte Art Paper or Museum Fine Art Paper. As for printing - we use digital printing technology, with Canon's 5-color reactive pigment-based ink to reproduce all the tones and colors vibrant and natural. Images are printed at ultra high resolution for clarity.
Depending on the artwork, there will be sizes available of 40cm up to 150cm on the long size.
No, by default the prints are not offered framed, but you will have the option to configure this extra directly before adding the product to the cart, as well as add the white spacing around the artwork. Keep in mind that framed artworks imply higher shipping costs.
Art walls are collages of original art or art prints that makes it easier for you to design your interior, using collages already thought through by us.

One of the new potential directions of the project is the development of thematic and advanced specialized courses in professional easel drawing and painting for artists and students, such as: still life, nude or plein air. In other words, the purpose of this section is to create a platform for professional and creative learning, based on which students and artists from all over around the world will be able to get in touch with our artistic experience and vision.
You can sign up for a course, by submitting the application form and paying the deposit.
The courses will be held as private courses for a small group of students (4 to 6 students per group)

There will be different types of courses, regular and intensive courses. The regular courses will have a duration of 2-4 weeks, depending on the topic, held 3-4 times per week. The intensive courses will have a duration of 7-10 days, held on daily basis.
