He was born on August 21, 1930, in Kneaj-Lujianova, Buturlino district, Gorky region, today Novgorod, Russia. He came to Moldova in 1945. Here he studied painting at the I. Repin School of Fine Arts in Chisinau (1952). During 1952-1957 he was in the army, where he continued to paint. After demobilization, he returned to Chisinau and was actively involved in the public work of the Union of Fine Artists.

He made his debut in 1959, at a republican exhibition, with the canvases: The Portrait of the Soldier and The Portrait of the Soviet Officer . In 1960, at the Decade of Moldovan Art and Literature , held in Moscow, he participated with the painting The Watchman . In 1961 he became a member of the Union of Fine Artists of the USSR, he was elected to lead the Union of Fine Artists of the USSR, he was elected to lead the Union of Fine Artists of Moldova. In the 60's he works hard, travels to the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea, stopping at the border pickets, accumulates a rich material for paintings.

He was active in various genres of painting. In his work he deals with subjects from the life of workers and the military using as a background in compositions industrial landscapes, especially in naval portions. From the period 1960-1970 date the paintings: Return to Peaceful Work (1961), Alarm (1962), The Watchman (1962) and others. The poetry of the city landscape was laid out in the paintings of 1964 (Buiucanii noi, Mestecenii and others). A trip to France inspired his painting Paris. Saint-Étienne Cathedral (1979) and a series of sketches showing the splendors of this country. His paintings are distinguished by freshness, especially the paintings in which the Moldavian land is painted: Cahul. Boats (1970), Rîbnița (1978), Cement factory (1983), Soldiers of the Danube flotilla (1984) etc.

He painted Chisinau during the reconstruction, the new Chisinau: Buiucanii Noi (1964, private collection); Victoriei Square in Chisinau (1964, UAP collection from the Republic of Moldova), New Chisinau (1975, National Art Museum of Moldova), Reconstructed Chisinau (1975, National Art Museum of Moldova), A Gloomy Day in Chisinau (1980, private collection ), Sculeni Lake, view of the restaurant "Izvoraș" (1982, UAP collection from the Republic of Moldova) etc.

He died on October 3, 1986 in Chisinau.
