Alexei Vasiliev was born in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Formation

  • 1932 - graduated from the Higher Technical and Art Institute of St. Petersburg;
  • 1935 - aspiration at the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow;
  • 1941 - Member of the Union of Visual Artists of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau;
  • 1945, 1959 - President of the Union of Visual Artists of the Republic of Moldova;
  • 1945-1959 - Makes paintings "On the outskirts of Chisinau", "Codrii", "At the bird farm", "Dimineaţa Moldovei", "Autumn in Moldova"
  • 1961-1965 - Director of the Republican School of Fine Arts „I. Repin ”(currently,“ A. Plămădeală ”College of Fine Arts);
  • 1961-1975 - made creative camps in China, Siberia, Crimea, Africa; created the paintings "The Story of Moldova", "Bakhchisarai", "In the Sayan Mountains", "The Ancient Capital of Egypt" and others.
  • 1975 (March 25) - died in Chisinau. He was buried in the Armenian cemetery;
  • 1997 - The memorial plaque was placed on the house where Alexei Vasiliev lived.

Most of the artist's works are in the State Museum of Art of the Republic of Moldova, as well as other museums in Russia, Kyrgyzstan, United States of America. The painting "The Story of Moldova" is in the collection of the Tretyakov State Gallery in Moscow.
